Have you ever wondered what a Staffordshire Terrier/Basset Hound would look like? Ta Da! Look no further than me, Brick. I was born on November 24, 2016. My foster says I am possibly the most ridiculously proportioned dog he's ever seen, but he always smiles when he says it. He says I am very sweet and definitely a love pig. “Seems to be getting along with other dogs and is doing okay with cats. He is doing well at commands and boundaries.” I’m glad that he says I need to put on weight because that means I get some really yummy food! Clearly, she is a stunner, but if you go beneath her spectacular outer appearance there is a tough, brave, adventurous, playful spirit. Usually, she is the leader off the pack and will beat the boys at any game they spring on her! There is also a gentleness and patience about her that make her a natural around children and other dogs. She doesn’t know if cats appreciate her wonderfulness, the one in her current home doesn’t, but Angel Fire is always open to making new friends! Being adorable gets her a lot of attention and makes her feel special and important as does being told she’s beautiful numerous times a day. She’d easily be at home anywhere and will charm and love her new family forever!

He is a deep thinker who will sit back and watch things unfold before he chooses what to do. Sometimes, he silently judges the foolishness of others, but soon enough, he joins in! Maxwell is a boxer heeler mix born on August 24, 2017 and has had age appropriate vaccinations. He is a rough and tumble guy who is a big old softy on the inside. He is a cautious, thoughtful, patient chap who tries hard to understand what is expected of him. Once he knows, his heart is free and totally in your hands and a playful, mischievous side of him emerges. Going outside to play is something he loves to do, especially if there are other dogs, children, or people around. He will be shy at first, but after a few times, look out, the fun arrives!! Stilts - ADOPTED You’ll know why they call me Stilts when you meet me! They tell me I’m a tripod. I don’t know what that means, I just know I don’t have to lift my leg to pee like the other boy dogs! (If you scratch my tummy, I wiggle my nub. My people laugh and love on me more, when I do that!) had to have some surgeries, but now I am all ready to become part of a family! I’m so excited! I love to run and play, now. It is so much fun. I’m about 4 years old and I am a chihuahua (4 years old is very puppy-ish for a chihuahua). I get along great with other dogs, and cats, and I LOVE people! My foster family tells me I am super goofy and affectionate and they hope I find the BEST home ever! Charlie Brown - ADOPTED
Aussie mix born on May 24,2017. He is one of nine pups rescued by the heroic shelter in Gallup at one day old after their mom likely perished from a combination of a difficult birth and inadequate care. At four days old they journeyed to Albuquerque where they fought to overcome many difficulties. Unfortunately, only Charlie and two of his sisters pulled through. Thesethree were bottle fed and given around the clock care, attention, and love. Charlie Brown is a lovable, laid back puppy who is fond of soft blankets, squeaky toys, and lots of affection...tons of petting, tummy rubs, and lap cuddling! This puppy is a wise old soul with youthful exuberance who is very eager to please and willing to shower you with all of his attention. Wherever he is, he's home! As with his sisters, Charlie carries an inherent sweetness. It comes across in his gentle nature and his thoughtful eyes. 
Lucy - ADOPTED is an Aussie mix born on May 24, 2017. She came into rescue at a day old with eight siblings when her mom disappeared after what is assumed to be a traumatic birth. It is unlikely that she survived, but the amazing shelter in Gallup cared for her babies and got them safely to Albuquerque. Unfortunately, Lucy and her siblings had a rough time. Only she, one brother, and one sister survived, but they soon thrived. These babies were bottle fed around the clock and loved immensely! Lucy is an animated, playful sweet pea who likes to give hugs and lick cheeks. This is a trusting, intelligent puppy who prefers explanations to merely being told "no". She is so much fun and has a multilayered personality! One minute she's staring into your soul trying to figure out what makes you tick, and the next she's off and playing gleefully with her toys! There's a lot to this one! Her mom may not have survived, but I like to think she was a gentle, sweet dog because Lucy sure is. Hello world! My name is (Mini) Mint. I was born May 24, 2017. I’m still a puppy in all ways...eat, play, sleep! I'm mostly house trained (the family doesn't listen to me when I tell them I need out sometimes) and I've learned SO many things here. I walk well on a leash and sit automatically when we reach a curb and wait for the "cross" command,. I know sit, wait/stay...hand signals and verbal commands. I've learned to line up with the rest of the pack and wait my turn for a treat...yum!! I respond well to "come", "fetch", "bring" and do "down" in my own time. Okay, I'm not perfect but, hey, I'm still a puppy! I haven't met any cats, but I am very respectful of the elders in the pack and play like crazy with my Aussie mix friend. I'm still a bit shy about strangers but warm up quickly when properly introduced (and offered treats). Small children that are wild and crazy are a bit scary to me. I'm looking for my special family that will play tug-tug and fetch with me, rub my belly, cuddle at nap time and help me finish perfecting my current skills and learning more (my foster mom keeps telling me that I'm so smart). I am so excited to meet you and show you what a good girl I am!!!! 
Gilligan - ADOPTED Born: February 17, 2017 This gorgeous Aquarius is named Gilligan. He has a quirky, creative way of looking at the world. It is fitting that he is a water sign because he loves getting wet like any labrador. Gilligan loves being at the heart of the action whether that is laying at your feet, chasing butterflies, playing with you and other dogs in the yard. Cats - no problem for this boy. Skipper entered this world in early February. He is a happy-go-lucky Labrador mix pup who is looking for a very special forever family. Skipper loves to play with toys, balls are a big favorite. Skipper can usually show us all what mellow means until the toys or other dogs come out to play. Then he is as energetic as any young pup. Skipper is a special kiddo- he has a condition called mega-esophagus that requires special accommodations at meal time. (Ask us and we can tell you more!) Skipper is crate trained and is working on house training. He does well with dogs, cats, and people too!
